3D Technology Checklist

This product is 3D-related. To help you get a great 3D experience, use the checklist below to ensure you have everything you need. 3D viewing requires:

	A Display First, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession.
	A Source Your display may be ready for 3D playback, but you'll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system.
	3D Content 3D content--the actual entertainment, in other words--will be played back using the source mentioned above, whether it's a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game.
	3D Glasses For now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered "active shutter" glasses, others polarized "passive" glasses. You'll need one pair per viewer, and they'll have to be compatible with your display, whether they're the same brand, or a pair of "universal" glasses designed to work across brands.
	HDMI Cable To connect your source (such as a 3D Blu-ray Disc player) to your display, you'll need a high-speed HDMI cable. Cables with this designation feature bandwidth speeds up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second), for carrying the 3D signal without any loss of quality.

3D Glasses Included: Unlike most other 3D TVs on the market, you get four pairs of 3D glasses in the box by  LG Infinia 47LW6500. This is NOK for most families, and means you can watch 3D content straight out of the box, without having to buy extra accessories.

Passive 3D Glasses Technology: The LG Infinia 47LW6500 uses passive 3D technology, which differs from the most active technology displays take. What this means is that the 3D glasses are exactly the same as you get in cinemas. They do not need batteries or charging of the active glasses and buy extra pairs are much cheaper.

Many users have also commented on the fact that passive 3D glasses are simply more comfortable to carry. Active glasses instead make use of shutters that open and close at rapid speed. Although most users get on with them very well that some claim are suffering from headaches as a result. Passive glasses are extremely simple and easy, but they come with their own questions (see below).

Quality: Although the 3D image quality is not as good as 3D displays using active 3D glasses (see below), it is very clear, bright, true-to-life colors - well worth the price.

The control is designed to be step by step, making it easy to know what to adjust, if you're not a technology expert. You can even let LG adjust the screen automatically using the built-in sensor, if you wish.

Cons of the LG Infinia 47LW6500

Passive 3D technology: Although there are several advantages of the passive 3D technology used in the LG Infinia 47LW6500, there are some drawbacks worth mentioning.

Since passive 3D TV glasses do not split the image into two, such as Active Shutter glasses, is the resolution of the TV effectively halved when viewing 3D content. This means that this TV will only display the full 1080p resolution when viewing 2D content. You must also make sure you sit far back NOK to improve the quality of 3D image - preferably at least six feet away.

Web Browser: While having a browser is a nice bonus for LG Infinia 47LW6500, there's no Flash support means you can not see Flash videos or websites. Some of the included Internet apps are also lower quality compared with other Internet-enabled TVs in this price range.

2D Image: 2D image quality on the LG Infinia 47LW6500 is generally very good. Dog can screen uniformity be poor, especially in low light conditions.
