Price: Over $ 2,000, making Samsung UN55D8000 not come cheap (even for a 3D TV). But it's packed full of a variety of features certainly put it at the top end of the available 3D television, with a large screen to boot. Many buyers feel that price is more than justified for this reason.
3D glasses: Another factor that really adds to the price of Samsung UN55D8000 is the fact that there is no pair of 3D glasses included in the box. You have to buy glasses for every viewer if you are going to view 3D content. Thankfully, you can now find the 3D glasses for around $ 50 per couple.
Image: As mentioned above, there are plus points to the picture quality of Samsung UN55D8000. That said, there are some major drawbacks. Number one is uniformity: The quality is not maintained over the entire area of the screen, and you will find that image around the edges look distorted.
There's also a great reflection on the glossy screen, so you need a beetje work to do to make your room darker you can before you look.
Smart Hub: Smart Hub is the function of the TV that lets you download and access various apps for the use of an Internet connection (as mentioned above). Although these programs can do much, and will be useful for many people, it's the way they are organized as a concern.
The Smart Hub section is extremely messy and difficult to organized. Some users have reported problems with hanging, or downloaded apps disappear.
There is no doubt that Samsung UN55D8000 not be beaten in terms of the way it looks and the features it can boast - and you'd expect as much for the price. Unfortunately the picture lets it down. The uniformity is simply not good enough for a TV in this price range, and you can find cheaper televisions can better work to do.
